Hydraulic Department – Water Supply Management
Key Responsibilities
- Long-term planning, design, and implementation of water supply schemes based on master plans.
- Development and expansion of water sources, construction of new water distribution stations, and upgrading of existing water treatment plants, intake wells, underground tanks, and overhead tanks.
- Designing and laying of transmission and distribution pipelines, procurement and installation of valves, floating of public tenders, and appointment of approved contractors through Nagar Panchayat authorities.
- Issuance of new licenses and renewal of existing licenses for plumbers.
- Deployment of water tankers in low-supply areas and response to complaints regarding water quality and quantity through pipeline supply.
- Maintenance of treatment plants, water distribution stations, valves, and pipelines through departmental staff or authorized private entities.
