Under the Uttar Pradesh Nagar Panchayat Act, 1959, it is the responsibility of the Nagar Panchayat to provide essential urban services to its citizens. In line with the 74th Amendment to the Indian Constitution and the 12th Schedule, the roles of local bodies have been significantly expanded. This charter aims to ensure citizens are informed about time-bound actions regarding street lighting, traffic, sanitation, and road maintenance services.
